Back to School
It's been a long and tough summer for me. I started massage therapy school and I also rebranded my company, which is really exciting for the business side of my life, but in the process, I neglected my own health. This is not new - it's something that I've struggled with for years now.
But this week was back to school for the kids. It was exciting for them and a bit for me, as I also embark on my new role as PTA Secretary. It's brought me back to the school environment, which isn't something that I knew that I missed until a few weeks ago. The other milestone of this week is that I bringing that back to school mentality to my own health and life. I gave myself a few days to just be me and unwind, but on Monday the work begins. I'm returning to my fitness and movement needs (still not sure what path that will look like), we're cutting out the hooch for a bit, and I'm coming back to simple and healthy foods. If one thing was made clear this week was the realization of how much extra work getting my kids lunches together are, and it's only going to get worse as after school activities set in.
I'm ready for this adventure and to actually start moving forward in my idea of "Midlife Moms Adventure Club". It's really about me reclaiming my own active life, but I've been projecting that idea on others instead of taking an active part in it for myself. So I have my books (my planner) and am ready to make this an amazing year. I truly believe that 2019-2020 will be the year when I see a positive shift in my life and finally start living the way that I've been imaging in my head.
